95 accord wont turn over
Hi I have this 95 accord and it had a idle problem tends to go up and down when at a complete stop. I was just recently at a complete stop and the car went low on rpm and slowly turned off. The car cranks but doesn't turn over, I took the battery to auto zone to test it and the battery doesn't have a dead cel and it's full charged. What could be the issue? I was thinking starter solenoid but I need more ideas on what's correct issue with the car itself .
Starter would not affect how the engine runs, unless the starter was engaged, jammed and seized up.
You state the engine cranks but does not turn over... what do you mean?
Does the engine turn over when you try to start, or do you just hear the starter spinning?
Remove the oil fill cap and have someone turn the engine over, look to see if the cam turns, or remove the distributor cap and see if the rotor turns. If it does not turn or moves erratically, the timing belt may have snapped.
Idle problem is most likely the FITV is in need of cleaning and adjustment. Clean the IACV as well while in there.
Reconnect battery
Verify connections are clean and tight.
Verify ends of cable to transmission and fuse block are clean and tight.
Verify grounds at engine mount/valve cover are clean and tight.
Verify ground for harness on intake manifold is clean and tight.
Verify starter connections are clean and tight.
Verify large cable attached to starter has full battery voltage.
Verify small wire to starter has battery voltage when key is turned to III(START).
