This is obviously staying... Mike would kick my *** if I deleted it, hehe.... He would delete me, haha..
Honda-tech sponsors are allowed to post deals anywhere... And this is a great one for those calipers, I wish they were legal for ECHC

hehe Thanks Corey
I wouldn't kick your ***, and even if I tried you could just jump in your car and not many people could catch you
Congrats on this years season
PS They're not ECHC Legal? or would they just bump you to H1?

will they fit on a 90 Accord?
Do you know if these will fit under stock 5G Prelude wheels?
No, these do not fit under stock rims. Also (correct me if I'm wrong) these are the ITR caliper set correct since Spoon did not make a Prelude specific application. These will require you to build a shim of approx 5-10mm (I forget offhand) for the back pad since the offset of the rotor isn't the same as the ITR.
Prelude Wheel:
16x6.5 +55
No idea on back spacing...can't easily get (not my car)...sorry.
I was under the impression that these were bolt-on for the 5G Preludes since they share the same front brake assembly (rotors, calipers) as ITR's. Mike, any input?

Yes these are ITR Version. Prelude version was never made. No Reason too. These also fit the NSX as its dimensions etc are the same as the ITRs just as the Preludes is.
bhcvc - Yes I am told it is for 5th Gen Preludes.
Not sure if it will fit the rim though as they just fit on an ITR with a 50mm offset and 15"x6" Rims.

This is what I know, it should fit a 5th gen prelude, no mods other then changing the calipers out and bleeding the lines
Will fit 4th gen VTEC's, and should fit under the stock 15" wheels, IF they fit under stock ITR wheels (which I am pretty sure they do)
Will fit all 4th-5th gen accords with the bigger 11.1" Accord V6 rotors...

TimeRacer is correct. I have been researching brake upgrades extensively, inclusive of all the major players (Spoon, Brembo, Stoptech, Rotora). The calipers and most other components are very similar between the ITR and 5th gen Prelude, but the offset of the rotor hub differs. It is somewhere around 2-3mm greater in the Prelude.
Thanks for the great price Mike. I am not sure if you remember me, but I was the Prelude owner that stopped by your shop last month.

Yes I remember you
Even a small difference like 2-3mm isn't much to work out just need a spacer made or washers as well as longer mounting bolts.

From what Corey and my people are saying they will bolt right up.
But on the other heand we have someone saying it needs a 2-3mm Spacer.
I was told it will bolt right on to the 5th Gen Prelude DOHC VTEC but not the base model Is it possible that it is the base model that needs the 2-3mm Spacer and would also need the DOHC models Front Rotors?

5G Preludes don't really have a non-VTEC base model. It's either the VTEC-Base or the VTEC-SH...both share the same powertrain and I believe brake/hub assemblies. If a spacer is needed, I'm just trying to picture where it's needed. Sounds like ppl are saying the Prelude's track is about 2-3mm wider than the ITR, which would seem to require spacers between the mounting bracket and the caliper to push the caliper further out (from center of car). Just trying to understand this. Thanks.
The calipers themselves will bolt straight onto a 4th gen or 5th gen Prelude. However, the rotor on the ITR and Prelude are slightly different and will require the spacer on the inside brake pad if you don't want to modify your mounting points.. or you can machine a little bit and not have to worry about it.
Here's what Sun Dang had to do for his Prelude..
"Yes, I did in fact use the Spoon calipers made for the Type-R. I'm sure inlinefour.com uses the same set-up. They fit fine, except for the fact that the rotor is slightly off-center inside the caliper. I just had my steering knuckle milled a slight bit to compensate. "

MIKE!!!!! who do i have to kill to get some of these.... oh man, i am anything but a JDM *****, but damn, 4 piston calipers, and that nice blue color  i want a set, but i don't have the extra $$$ right now, is this something you usually carry, i mean, is it something i would still be able to buy later on down the road, say about 6 months or so?
TimeRacer: I always thought rotors were centered w/in the caliper, regardless of setup. It's strange that it should be offset toward one side. Wouldn't that make one brake pad thicker than the other in the Prelude caliper?
If the rotor is offset outward within the caliper, wouldn't it be the same to put the spacers between the caliper and the mounting bracket to push the caliper outward and thus center it on the rotor?

Mike is a good guy, but i think if you spend 1090 you deserve this shirt instead...
Where do i get the NO Spoon Shirt???? I have to have one of those
James
Spoon suck baby! Bump for mike
No, they're not. The rotor (depending on the hat) can be spaced almost anywhere within a specified range. In the case of these Spoon calipers, you need it to add the shim.. Either way you're going to get slightly uneven wear. If you hear your brakes start to squeak, make sure that you get to them and replace them but you must check both sides of the pad since it'll be slightly uneven pressure on the rotor.
For the Prelude people out there who are considering doing this, there are a few other options and they fit under 15" rims.
