99 Teg R
Well I'll start by saying this isn't my car nor do I have any knowledge of Honda related cars.
But anyway my buddy has a 99 Type R that he turboed, had tuned and "blew" up the motor. It sat for a few years outside, and is now in my garage.
My role in this is pulling the motor, taking it apart and replacing hopefully only the block. The motor is already out and I'm procrastinating on taking it apart. Might start tonight. Here is some proof lol

Nice bike. I have a 99 itr also I'm interested to know if it's another Canadian itr, which are few and far between unfortunately.
I'm pretty certain they only came in CW in 99 but I could be wrong, out the car could have been sprayed black the paint looks fresh for 99. Anyways there's allot of easy ways to tell. The quickest way to tell by looking under the hood is to look in the corner where the abs motor sits, behind the abs bracket if there is a circle hole or a hole with a plastic tube feeding air then it's not a type r. Type r's have the stamping for the circular hole but it's not cut out.

He just wants to make power with it. It's got a bunch of aftermarket stuff in the block. Low comp pistons, eagle rods, some sleeve protection insert, built head.
And as for the turbo drain. I would like to use a 45 but the pan is already tapped with some funky 5/8 pipe fitting thing.
Your right this thread is wierd lol. It's not my car and it's been in my garage for 3 months. I want my garage back! Lol

So I didn't finish it completely but it was very close to being done before it left my house.
A lil back story on the car, he has had it for 6 years the previous owner had it stolen and stripped which is why the front fenders and hood are different but color matched, the original B18C5 cracked a ring and was sold, so a B18C1 was dropped in and shortly after turboed. That motor obviously met it's end.
The car is now at a shop being dyno tuned and getting the motor broken in before he gets his hands on it.

Dude like wtf, if you're not going to build the block why over boost a stock motor. Waste of time and money to just keep replacing the block again and again.
That was directed the owner of that teg, not the OP.

This one is built, not by him or me though. He bought it off of a guy that had a speed shop build him it and never ended up putting it in anything. Built for boost, I don't think the B18C1 that blew while boosting was ever really planned for boost to be added, idk though I wasn't there
