Default Flawed exhaust design or poor exhaust supplier?

The only annoyance I have had on my 96 civic dx sohc, is the annoying exhaust breaking off. This has happened twice now in a 2 year span. Both of which it has been completely rusted out and broke at the cat.

Now my local shop tells me its from condensation building and rusting it as time goes by, they claim its due to my driving, stop and go. Sounded odd to me, as I have never had exhaust sections rusting off every 2 years on any other vehicle I have owned.

So is this true with these cars? Does the exhaust rust out very easy like my shop claims and will need replacing more often then not? Or simply a case of a crappy metal/piping supplier that they shop is getting their exhaust piping from?

Your shop is staffed by fucktards. Unless you're driving through salted roads 11 months out of the year, there is zero reason for your exhaust to be completely rusting through that often.

Yeah like I said sounded odd to me also. So would you say this is simply just a shitty exhaust material/piping supplier they have? I would imagine so if it rusts out every year or 2

That, or a shitty install job. Get a stainless steel exhaust next time around. If you're trying to stay OEM quiet, smaller is better. Mandrel Exhaust Systems has good options, but unless there's something you aren't telling us, I'd call them and see if they can maybe do 2" stainless.

advanceautoparts.com has the Walker brand-name midpipe with resonator, Part No. 47724, for $103.99. Use promo code trt41 and get $40 off the order.

I don't understand why people use **** muffler shops, when you can get good quality pre-bent exhaust systems for cheap, with warranty.

Find another shop or buy the entire b-pipe.
