Default Are all ZC blocks the same?

I want to rebuild my engine and I can get a low mileage JDM D16 (ZC) engine pretty cheap. I just want to strip it down to the block and head and then swap all my USDM parts over to it. Will that work? Are all the bolt holes the same? Any thing else I should know before I drop a few hundred bucks on a JDM engine?

Both my existing engine and the one I am thinking about purchasing are SOHC.

Which SOHC? This will dictate what parts can swap and which ones cannot.

sohc zc = d16a6 everything swaps over. The difference is the cam profiles, ZC makes 12 more hp.

This is true. I quite liked my SOHC ZC before it started burning oil like crazy.

Both my existing engine and the one I just purchased are SOHC and both are stamped ZC on the block. So I'm not sure how to interpret your statement. Which ZC makes 12 more hp, and is it just because of the cam profiles?

What AZ520 means is the d16a6 (USDM) is the same motor as the SOHC ZC motor (JDM) aside from the different camshaft profile which allows the ZC to make 12 more hp.

If both engines you have are SOHC ZC then you have two JDM motors with interchangeable parts.

I believe that the engine in my 1990 USDM Civic Si is the original engine. I followed the link that Tyson provided and based upon the information found there it appears that the engine I just purchased (1.6L SOHC dual carbureted) came from a 1994 JDM Integra ZX. I intend to swap just about everything from my original engine to the one I just purchased. It just seamed like an way to rejuvenate the existing engine which burns and leaks oil. I was not planning on swapping the head. Can the hole in the head for the mechanical fuel pump easily be plugged/covered? Someone said that the cam profile is really designed for carbs so I might be better off with the original cam profile. Any opinions on that?
