i have a 2004 civic manual trans the speedo has been stuck at zero for some time now i replaced VSS and it did not fix the problem check engine light on any one got n e ideas

 

What is the code for the CEL?

Check fuse for the gauge assembly. Check connections at back of gauge assembly, an open in the wire from GA to PCM, a short to ground, bent/loose or corroded terminals, a faulty PCM or gauge assembly.

 

P0500 vss no pulse, cvt speed sensor malfunction, vss malfunction cvt

 

Pulled the cluster no visible damage to connectors or wires ran the self check on the cluster all guages sweep back and forth and all lights work
