Default Pro 2's or tuner 3's????

Ok I have a 86mm lsvtec with golden eagle sleeves, wiseco 13.1 8.25cc pistons, eagle h-beam rods, 89mm ls crank, RLZ race port job (Brad special) b16 head, supertech everything, skunk2 ultra street wit dual 1mm spacers, sk2 74mm tb, and the 1320 rmf style header wit megaphone, will have a full 3" inch exhaust, 4.7 fd type r trans wit quaife lsd. I have tuner 3's in it right now. I'm putting the motor in the car next week. Now I was told leave the tuners in, but I have the pro 2s also and debating on putting them in. Just want to see what people have to say on which I should run???? Please give real statements that make sense not just some rambling. (I think the header will be my weak link, but we'll see). I will post pics later tonight, have to upload them. Just really want to see what feedback I get. Also I would like to street the car too, this is not just a race car, won't be daily at all, but would like to take it out on the streets for a beat down here and there, another thing to keep in mind. Thanks in advance

Since you already have them, go with pro 2. Later you may want a little more though.

Ultra 1's.... well... I tried to get a set of those. Waited 2 months. Was told end of Sept. Then mid Oct. Then the first of November. Apparently testing hasn't been going well. So I stuck with the pro series, which is proven, instead of waiting on a hyped up new product that has yet to deliver, let alone be released. Don't put all your chickens in 1 basket. I'd wait this storm out...

Yes, I said chickens in 1 basket, cause everyone is already counting eggs that haven't hatched

I'm sure the ultra series will work as do their pro series. Can't call it hyped up until you've seen results that indicate them being hype and even then you couldn't. They have the lift and duration to support their potential and hopefully they are at the valve what they advertise this time around.

If the b series results are anything like the k series, worth the wait! But you're right, just hype for now. If I had compression like OP, I would get pro3's too.

Yea the ultra k cams are beasts. Another reason I don't doubt them. But that's roller rocker and not finger follower at the same time. Area under the curve is off the chain I've heard with ultra series k cams.

I'm not saying the Ultra series won't perform, all I'm saying is until they work out all the bugs and actually release them (they are months behind at this point) I don't wanna be the first guinea pig as it's been far from smooth. If they live up to the name like the K series have, then we all will reap the benefits of newer, better cams and faster cars.

Added pictures. And to everyone who committed so far thanks, keep the info coming. Never really thought about pro 3 cuz like I said I do want to drive it on the street and I know couple of guys who ran pro 3 and they said they hated them on the street, loved them on track/money runs on the street. But for regular driving they hated them.

Dam that serious hp on tuner 3's, didn't think they good make that much power. I know your on a stroker kit, but still those are great numbers for those cams. Thanks for the info.

From what I hear, regardless of the power gains, the ultras are having wear and rocker wear issues like most high lift cams in b-series. Has anyone had rocker wear issues with pro2 or pro3 cams?

I'll vote for the tuner3's, just to see what they are capable of. I have a similar build with less c/r and less manifold w/ tuner3's. I went with tuners for ease of install (degreeing recommended but not necessary), the whole valvetrain wear rumors, and because there is not a lot of info out there on them.

I think everyone will agree the pro2 will make more power everywhere and better suited for your build.

You have an opportunity to put tuner3's to bed for everyone wondering, myself included, what they are capable of when given enough c/r and manifold.

Yea I think I'm going to use tuner3 first to see what they will do on this motor. If there still feel like I could get more with pro2's then I'll swap them out. But I'm curious myself to see what kind of power tuner3's will make. I was told by Howard of RLZ that they will make the same if not more power than pro2's. So only time and dyno numbers will show the truth.

hello

it's weird , i ordered the ultra 1 camshaft in august month , and i have received the cams september in france.
i measured lift in the head and i found less than skunk2 spec
12.2mm max lift intake / and 11.35mm exhaust
and many gap at overlap ( with o° INTAKE and O° exhasut i measured 1.5mm )
i build a road race b16 engine a the end of the month for the protype
lighter car. I will give you the result
excuse me for my bad english !

I know it's been months since I lasted posted something on my build, but process has been slower than I thought. Main reason car in NC and I'm in NY. With that being said I hope to have it running with in the next month. Here are some updates on the progress so far

2)run the lines for the brakes
3)make a 3 inch exhaust for the car

Two more things almost checked off the list

Chasebays brake setup, just have to flair the rear lines

Aeromotive reg and fuel lines ran just have to get the right fittings for the GoldenEagle pro series fuel rail
