Default Anybody use pacesetter converters on honda pilot?

I'm being told my bank 1 converter is bad. It measures about 250 at inlet and 450 ant outlet. Going to try pacesetter ones since my friend got two of them for 100 each. I'm also wondering if simply doing a tune-up could stop the cat from getting so hot? I'm still averaging 18mpg with p0420 code. I've also replaced all o2 sensors just because they had 131,000 miles on them.
