Default valve guide with toda spec c cams

hello,

my name is andre.
i need your help.

i build a b18c with the following parts:

toda pistons
max. relieved crankshaft
compression is 13:1
the b16a1 head has a great head work
buddy club valve springs/retainers and valves
toda spec c camshafts /huge exhaust and twm itb

it gets a programmable logic conroller with a other ignition.

so i want to know the essential distance i need between retainer and valve guide. toda illustrate in the data sheet the size 12,55 mm for the size between top edge of the valve guide until the bottom. currently i have 13 mm. the maximum lift oft the camshaft is in/ ex 12,5 mm

so does anybody know the distance i need? is the specification of toda obligatory for driving the cams? i heard guideline value the size 1mm between retainer and valve guide. does it works with 0,5 mm?

thanks for your help.

best regards
andre

.5mm is really close. Will that even clear the valve stem seal?

with the valve stem seal i´ve a distance/ tolerance of 0.5 mm. the maximum lift of the valve is 13 mm with the current valve train and the oem valve guides.

tomorrow i´ll spend more time for it.

yesterday we used a test gauge and the result is 0.45 mm distance between retainer and valve stem seal. so i would take the guidelines from toda and try to press the valve guides a little more...
