Pneumatic Paddle shifter for any H pattern gearbox
Hey Guys!
This is my first post to this forum. Although it's not directly connected to the hondas, I'd still like to share with you the project I was working on for the last 2 years. It's fully pneumatic paddle shifter system for any cable driven H gearbox.
The ECU that's controlling the valves can also control the clutch so one could use this on syncro gearbox as well. Average shift I get is 0.08s which I'm looking to improve. I still have few miliseconds in my sleave
I'm also sharing this project to get further ideas and improve it. Development never stops so any idea/comment is more than welcome

Thanks!

That's really cool!
How much does your system weigh?
At what point do you have to start using the clutch pedal again? Just take off? and I'm assuming close to a dead stop?

Hey.
That's correct. Clutch is only needed to start and stop.
The complete system in the video weights around 10kg. However, few of the components are really are over-dimensioned, so realistically 3kg less is easly achievable. I'd say 7kg in total in lighter version. Still a lot, but hey.. you need some to get some

I don't think it would be a too-big of a problem to fit this on rod-type gearbox. Internally, they're the same gearboxes, only a rod-cable converter is needed. I'm sure it can be done.
