guage cluster.
as far as plug and play compatibilty, youll need to stick with the 90-91 clusters, the 88-89 are wired different. if you want a tach, youll need an SI, LX, or EX cluster.

I have a 91 DX cluster for sale with zero miles on it only problem is it has the automatic thing in between the fuel and temp gauge get face gauges though and it would cover it right up.
you wouldn't need to change the dash for the 88-89 clusters w/tach to fit in a 90-9i civ. you just gotta get the brackets and do some wirings mods but get the 90-91 A LOT easier!
hey guys i don't like how the cluster cover is so small on my 89 civ. can't i just throw on the 90-91 cluster covers ???

you can swap any thing you want. The parts that make the gauges work are the same from any year. the faces are different, but you can swap them. simply pry off the needle with two spoons and remove the 2 screws, then put on the working "driver". All of the contact points line up and everything.
