Default obd1 motor in obd2 car issues

a little background on this car, 96 ek with a d15b7 swap. Running the proper ecu (p06) with a jumper harness. Car runs horrible until like 3-4k then comes out of it in a way, spits and sputters no ***** what so ever in the lower RPMs. I had a obd2 dizzy on it, so I swapped it for a d15 one with new wires, nothing. Still runs horrible. The only other thing I can think of is the obd2 injectors I'm running is causing this? I have the obd1 injectors i can throw in but I have to hack up my plugs. Or has my car jumped timing ? it ran mint in the car it pulled from but could it have jumped in between swaps? thank you for your time

check mechanic timing and make sure the cam gear lines up with the marks on the rear timing cover, the crank lines up with the front timing belt cover.

If by OBD2 injectors you mean OBD2 D16Y7 injectors, those are 190cc not 235cc like the D15B7 uses.

If you want plug and play just get some 96-00 EX and they'll be the correct flow rate.

slapped a different ecu in the car now it runs mint. Should i be fine running a p05 ecu? it was all my buddy had and it runs good , only difference i noticed was the redline was at 6k instead of 6,5 now

Being that the P05 is originally used with the 8 valve head and 190cc injectors, my hunch is that the ECU is adjusting accordingly for the amount of air the 16 valve head is flowing. In case you didn't know, the main difference between D15B7 (what you have) and the D15B8 (what the ECU is for) is just 16 valves vs 8 valves. The big question is how far off is your air/fuel ratio from stoich or whatever ratio it's expecting to be at?

To answer your question, it might be ok on the surface but I don't know that anyone can answer what's going on inside the combustion chamber. If it's all you have access to, use it but keep in mind that the P06 is what you really need along with the 235cc injectors.
