Brakes locking up
Hey, I have a 1995 Honda prelude which I replaced my break booster and master cylinder. Now that I blead the breaks the pedal is insanely stiff and the breaks are no doubt compressed. When I drive it I can smell the pads burning and the car being held back. Is there something I did wrong like connect the master cylinder with the lines connected. Or some how have the booster adjusted wrong even though I tried not to move it. Some advice or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Since you just replaced the master cylinder and brake booster, and the brakes are always engaged, then I would start off with checking/adjusting the pushrod that many people have mentioned as being the first thing to check for this type of an issue. I did a search for 'pushrod' in the Suspension/Brake forum, and spotted the following threads, so take a look. I've never had to replace my master cylinder and brake booster on my car, but many people have mentioned checking the pushrod to make sure that it is adjusted correctly, so that would be the first thing I would check in your case. - Jim

So I'm going to try and bring this in about two turns to gain my bit of play. When I press the peddle with my fingers it moves very little. Certainly less then the 5mm the article suggest. I will let you know how it goes, thanks everyone!
So I adjusted to booster counter clockwise ultimately four rotations and there is no difference. When I first start the car it seems to be fine then I drive around the block a few times and the breaks just get extremely stiff and lock up to the point where the car doesn't even roll down a hill in neutral.
