type r intake manifold vs. stock b16 intake manifold
Has anyone done this upgrade? I searched and came up with nada.
Any info will help. Ive heard that the type r intake mani will flow better but was looking to here from someone who has swapped this before. Just in-case,
I have a b16 with 99 si cai, cam gears, and reprogrammed ecu.

great performance with cams. crappy idle in the cold weather though.
:edit: looking for the new HT spellcheck feature.

on the bad idle comment.Car idled perfectly on mine, but I am using all OBD1 parts for my swap... b16a throttle body with the map hole tapped for OBD0's external map sensor...
I love my setup

I have a type r mainfold sitting in my room waiting to be put on. But for sure they flow better. I haven't heard of any idle problems with my friends cars. It might also be a good idea to get a fuel rail also.
For what it is worth, mine idles like crap. It was not perfect before but now it rather sucks.....oh well I figure it out sooner or later
You'd be much better off with the Skunk2 Intake manifold. Cost just as much, direct-bolt on installation, supposedly no idle problems, and it makes more HP...........
