Icon5 Civic EX 2001 Keyless entry unit issue

Hi people,

1. Could you help locate the keyless entry unit in Civic EX 2001 Coupe model? I have 2 remotes, when I click LOCK lights go on 1 time and off, I can hear relay sound under the dash. When I click second time, I can hear door actuators low click voice on both doors but doors do not lock. I don't get any horn signal feedback after clicking LOCK also, I don't get any LOUD horn signal after second click on LOCK.

2. Inside the car, when I sit and click power lock button on the door, it does not lock (button with red mark does not go down). I checked both GROUND and POWER supply (12 v) to the door lock switch (voltmeter showed 12 v when I click lock on switch and negative -12 v when I click down switch). I am really puzzled how to make the car LOCK both doors and give a HORN signal.

P.S: Panic button does not work also.

Best,
N

Correction: PANIC button works nice. Just had to click for longer time. The rest is still not worked as mentioned above.

P.S: I completely freak out when horn gave loud signal after PANIC button click. Did not expected

The factory keyless entry module is mounted under the head unit, behind where the cigarette lighter is mounted.

You may have more than one problem, but it seems likely that the two door lock actuators are bad based on your voltage test result.

Alternatively, it's a mechanical problem with the locks. Is it easy to manually lock and unlock?

Manual lock/unlock is easy for both doors separately. Do you think booth door actuators are bad even they give "click" sound on second click on LOCK button of remote?

If you don't trust your voltage tests, then run power and ground wires directly from battery to actuator. Does it lock and unlock now? If not, replace the actuator.

Hi, I'm with a similar problem. After I configured the keyless entry just the drivers door closes using it and the manual lock switch.
Before I programmed the fob, the lock switch would lock both doors, so the passengers door actuator is not the problem (I guess).
What could it be?
Thanks in advance!

door lock modules are quite a common failure, I had my pass side one go out. I didn't notice it for like 2 years cuz i never use the pass side door. once i knew it was bad, i replaced the module. they're super cheap on ebay and so far so good. works nice and quiet - not bad for like $7 bucks shipped lol
