Hey,

My car is a '96 Spec JDM DC2 Type R with OE single-din 'hole' for the stereo with the small storage space beneath it (See picture).

I just installed the double-din blank plate and it seems kinda loose. I had to rip out the single din and storage surround to get it to fit. Also, the cup holder now jams into the ashtray as I try and open it.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

From memory it should have metal spring clips. Maybe you're missing those if you bought used? Also it can sorta go on upside down but properly one way only.
