Default 2007 Accord V6 Haynes Manual

I need to replace my ATF warmer on my 2007 accord v6. I don't have a shop manual and need a DIY for changing this part. Can anyone advise the correct steps? Next time you are in Wilmington, NC, beers are on me. Thanks, Ashton

The warmer is on top of the transmission, and you'll need to remove parts from the vehicle to provide access to it. Here is a basic run down.

1: Locate the warmer on top of the transmission. It will be a brass-colored round cylinder. Remove the air intake and other parts as they interfere with your accessing it.

2: Drain the coolant to prevent contamination of the transmission. There are two rubber hoses that feed this device. After you drain the coolant, remove the lines.

3: Remove the 3 12mm bolts that secure the unit to the transmission. There are two o-ring seals underneath that seal the transmission fluid to the warmer.

4: Clean the area, and reverse the installation. Bleed the cooling system.

This is a straightforward repair. Why are you replacing this exactly? I've never had to replace one yet.

Well, I found coolant in the transmission fluid. I think this is the source of the mixing. Do you know if that is accurate? Thank you for the help.

I have heard that coolant getting into the transmission will cause the transmission to fail - at least in some cars. Would it be recommended to have the transmission rebuilt, even if the mixing was caught very early?
