has anyone ordered custom na bseries cams?
Im thinking of getting some custom cams done for my time attack n/a fully built/bored b16a. looking at Rocket or kelford probably, I looked at dd tech but it seems by their website they only really care about drag. Im running pro1s right now. Has anyone ordered some? What did they need (so I can be ready) and how was the experience? like are you happy with them, was it a big enough difference from your previous and what were you running, how long did it take and anything else you you think is important. thanks in advance.
Hi,
Am based out here in India and have ordered custom cams from DDTech. Derek heard me out understood my requirements and delivered a custom cam which performed beautifully
My car is a daily driver which goes to the drag strip twice a year. I suggest you spk to him first and then decide.

Im trying to get as much out of the engine as possible in a profile that will work well for time attack and the occasional street drive. heres my build info about 3/4 of the way down

I haven't heard of them before. ill look them up.
I do want a custom cam. your website atleast makes it seem like you really focus more on cams for drag since that's all you show under your customer cars section.

I had just received my m22xx cams from rocket along with their sl springs and modified spark plugs. Ill update you when its ready for the tune. cant wait for the results. 89x82 b18c1 btw.
Pro series are known for their larger primaries which help the power where it seems you want it, so IDK how much bigger you can go without entering "vtec territory". Have you thought about longer runners? This also has a large impact on powerband.
Ya know, all motor b20s are known for their great midrange with the correct cams.

Since you mentioned kelford I'd look at 176b at most. Even though nobody has really tried em kelford says they perform like toda b cams. Pro series has good primaries too.
In all honesty though - I don't think changing cams is your answer. A B16 for time attack isn't ideal. Torque is your best friend, and B16's have none. I would look for a ls or B20 block. Even if you don't do high compression pistons, it's going to be quicker than a B16 with large cams.

Wow you have a lot of money into that B16 for N/A use. Since your're already sleeved - I would do this: http://www.briancrower.com/makes/hon..._stroker.shtml
That motor would RIP!
He's still doing that?? Is he still using Autolites?
If you're already using Pro1 for time attack, DD Tech would be a great person to talk to. Drag racing is more popular among the import crowd than road racing, so that would explain his website being directed more towards 1/4 mile.

Nah he uses densos. Well in my d16 I get 43mpg on 93 octane at 85mph. I gotta give him that!
We do it all, little research on my company will show you we do camshafts for all sorts, from the guy who wants a drop in camshaft, to custom spec supercharger or nitrous camshafts. We've been around awhile and we had alot of doubters earlier in our time, but we've proven to be one of the top camshaft provides.
Please, email or call for anymore information, as i'm rarely on HT anymore.
No matter how many ways you slice the pizza, its still pizza, you can't reinvent the sparkplug. The gains shown are from simple cool downs in between changes and proper gapping. I've spent hours on the dyno testing Fuels and i did try the whole "spark plug theory" its pretty simple that with a 10 to 15 min cool down, gains are had.
Were on a full road course track ( index ) so I actually am rarely out of vtec. Im usually running in the 7k-9k range so the primaries are only when I get it out on the street which is still important but not as much.
