like the title says, which color do you guys think looks best? its time for a new paint job!
Currently - 1991 honda crx si. OEM rio red R-63

COLOR
1- Sunburnt Orange
2- Sunburst Orange
3- Gun Metal Gray
4- Monster green
5- Rio Red
6- Murdered out Black
7- Name your own color

TRIM
1- Keep the trim black and bottom section black
2- Paint entire car + trim same color
3- Keep only the middle trim black

 

You should ask a mod to move this thread to an appropriate section.

 

Or you can toss a suggestion and be done with it. Much rather see replies from fellow crx owners than to have some kid with a new civic. If ud like me to add something "technical" to this post we can talk about trims/clips/weatherstripping etc

 

Will you paint the engine bay, door openings, etc? If not, I would say definitely keep it Rio Red.

 

I'd keep it Rio Red anyway with black trim like it came from the factory.

 

I've always been partial to white cars but red is a good look too. Keeping the trim black (not painted) would help it look "period correct".

Rio Red with black on the trim and bottom section is what I would go with.

By the way will this be stock height and stock wheels? Just asking.

 

Currently the trim is also rio red, entire car is dull though. lowered 2` on 14s

as for painting everything else im not sure. i may spray the bay myself black after welding up a few things. previous owner had somethin blow on passenger side and it looks like the upper arm blew out.

door jambs/exterior will be done at a shop. interior though idk. i tend to leave the plastics/rear out so that will show red -.-

 

I see your point. I'm not a mod so I'm not making you do anything you don't want to. For the record, Rio Red...but a clean Y49 Yellow gets me everytime.

Race - Championship white (Less heat from the sun)

Restore - Stock color

Show - Some ridiculous House of Kolor, color

Raise the dead - Y49

would feel wrong doing y49 since its not the original color. been digging the orange for a while now but its probably not the smartest idea as far as cops/attention goes

seems like most guys would keep the factory color which would be the easiest in my books cause basically a respray/clear with minimal coats.

and as for what its purpose is? just a clean appearance so i can enter car shows at big events for close parking + weekend warrior. going for boost also this winter but wont do much since b swapped already
