So, for the car that I will be getting my license in, I have a 1991 EE2 wagon, fwd, 1.6 l w/ automatic trans, however, I have an issue... the fuel gauge doesn't work. I am aware that it could possibly be the float, the fuel sending unit or even the gauge itself. The gauge doesn't work at all, so I'm guessing that it might be the fuel sending unit, considering it starts rough also. How the hell do I even get to the fuel sending unit anyways?

 

I imagine it would require you to remove the fuel tank. You should invest in a Factory Service Manual (FSM) as soon as you can.

 

I was told that the fuel sending unit is beneath the back seats, but I won't be sure unless I actually remove the seats...

 

It's in the tank. Accessing it is the difference.
