Default 96 b16 engine harness on 96 d16y8 engine

If the harness is an exact fit. I plan on putting a 96 civic si harness on my 96 ex. My harness has some messed up connectors and is missing my primary o2 sensor conector and wires. Can someone tell me if the 96 si engine harness is the same harness as the 96 ex models? If they are different could you please tell me the difference besides the wires being a little longer. I can buy the si harness for 60 bucks so that is why I want to know. Thanks

Exactly what car is this "96 B16" harness coming out of? The B16A2-powered SI was only available 99-00.

Thanks. I wasn't sure. I just thought all si were b16. The post on Craigslist said 96 si. When I sent him a text asking what did it come out of he replied 99 si. Sucks. I thought I was going to be able to get a engine harness for 60 bucks.

I'm getting more and more confused. I have a 96 civic ex with d16y8. I looked at my ecu and it's a p2p but I think it is a odb2b because it goes plug plug plug then empty. The guy who sold the car to me did some jerry rigging.

Ugh, clusterfucks like this are always fun to try to diagnose.

Exactly which one of these does your ECU look like?

Exactly which one of these does your distributor plug(s) look like?

Odb2b ecu and odb2b distributor plug. But the distributor looks like odb1

So for the sake of wiring, ECU, and engine sensors, you should treat your car like it's a 99-00. Good luck remembering that.

And the year stamp is 2/5 for some reason and it says p2j5 so I assume it was swapped out of a 98 automatic according to what people posted about the codes. I heard people say the car will never run right if it doesn't have the harness that is for that year. I met the guy with the harness. It is a odb2a and has all plugs. Got it for 60 bucks. I'm going to get an odb2a ecu and odb2a distributor. Then hopefully my car will be running good without codes. Right?
