There isnt a thread of this, and i know i needed help dping mine, so this is for anyone with a 99-00 civic who wants to do the trunk conversion. This will include everything needed to do the swap and have your lights working.


Heres the outter tail light wiring, all wires depinned from the connector. Keep in mind, there is 2 connectors on each side. The 3 pin connector has a spot for a 4th wire and will connect to the new outter tails. This is the connector.

 

Here are the color codes for the corner lights.

This is the order of the wires on the tail light harness. Its hard to see, but it goes green/white, green/red, red/black, then finally black. So take your connector and match up the order like so.

You are now done with the outside lights. When hooked up right, it should look like this.

 

As fkr the actual trunk lid, if your trunk came with the harness, great!! Just peel back the wire loom down by the hinges and splice your new harness to the old one. Its like 5 wires and the colors all match up to a tee. If you do it that way, youll have to comnect the 2 red wires on the new trunk harness, as its the license plate lights. You will also have to run a seperate wire for the green/white.

I didnt make my connection there, but youll have to if you want that function to work!

Now, if youur trunk didnt come with a harness, then you may be in trouble.. The license plate lights are a different connector from the usdm plugs, and the usdm tail light connectors are different. Youll be able to get away when your doing the corner lights, as it has the right connector, but the trunk lid does not! No biggie, head to your local junk yard and pocket the connector lol. From then on, just follow the wires.

Green/black=reverse
Red=park
Red/black=license plate
Blue=trunk light
Green/white=brake

When its all said and done, it should look like this

Donr worry about the turn signal, it looks nice and it all works perfect. So for anyone doing this trunk swap on a 99-00 civic. Here you go!!

I'm trying to do the same to my 2000 civic. I just recently got a domani trunk and I'm having issue with the inner light my existing harness won't connect to the inner light sockets. I saw your thread about how to do the wiring cuz my domani trunk didn't come with a harness. But on your thread it doesn't show the pictures of the wiring is there a way you can send those pictures you posted to me possibly to my email?
