Default MD, CRX Build Thread

Hello all, this is my build thread for my '90 CRX Si, purchased around 8 years ago, started restoring it- and then kids happened... so here it is 6-7 years later coming back out to play (I had stored it in a sealed container on my property while building my house).

I managed to push it into my garage and get everything sorted back on some shelves so I can start the fun part. Here she sits in the garage...

More updates to come...

BTW, this thread is open to comments... I got thick skin. lol

I will post questions, etc as I have them, appreciate the help in advance.

Is it a proper cage? Looks half decent. The primer is probably going to need work after being stored. What kind of motor/performance plans do you have?

Got the cage 8 years ago from a local guy in PA, he does custom work. It was a good design- however when I was installing it I decided to change the back strut tower bar portion to connect the towers. I felt like it would provide more support.

The welds need some work, but i'll get back to it shortly.

As far as motor- I got myself a 04 RSX-s that i pulled the k20a2 from, right under 90k, ran great. I plan on leaving most of the exterior OEM, and using the JDM front i purchased years ago.

Here is the drivers side mount shot, fit was perfect, but then again Hasport usually is.

Got the bay cleaned up, mounts welded in and ready for some test fitting...

After dropping the K in for the first time, I had some hitting on the rear crossmember... had to remove some metal to even get it mounted.

After taking out about a half inch it fit!!!

So, before properly bolting everything down, I am going to make sure all my parts are here, or I need to order something, so I started mocking up or bolting on the needed accessories to get the motor to turn over...

I was able to grab the Hybrid shifter box from another MD k20a member, said on the site no cut install, but I wasnt happy with the fit so I cut the factory hole larger to make sure it mounted perfectly.

Also grabbed the Hush performance hydro conversion kit and started bolting it together with my pedal assembly. Props to Hush for the very nice how to videos and product!! Thumbs up.

More to come soon.... thanks all

Sticking with the OEM Frost White, it was the original color- love the look.
