Default Hondata s300 few questions

Okay, so i've tuned a few cars with crome, but i'll be tuning with the hondata s300 v2 for the first time for a friend and i have a few questions regarding initial setup. I downloaded the smanager just to look over it and it seems pretty different than crome. The car already has the s300 installed and is currently running on a basemap. Can the s300 be tuned on different laptops or does it lock itself to a specific laptop? If i want to tune with my own laptop, do i have to register from within the smanager? Or do i just install the smanager, usb drivers and connect ecu with my laptop and start tuning? Is it that simple or am i missing something?

I also have a question regarding the wiring of aem uego wideband for datalogging. I forgot to mention before but the car is a h23 blue top dohc vtec motor. Can anyone let me know how to wire the white wire for datalogging? Looking forward to your help, thanks.

Smanager software can be used on any compatible laptop.

Looking forward to your help guys. How do i upload the existing map from ecu to the software? I would like to save that map before making any adjustments so i have something as a back up if something goes wrong.

It's in there, you didn't search that hard obviously... it has the information that you seek.

Click on the link I provided then follow the simple flow below:

"Index" --> "S300 Window" --> Scroll down to "S300 Calibration Tab"

The screenshot and caption below explains what you need to know. Honestly, it is kinda scary you are tuning and haven't browsed the software to become familiar with it at all.

The program is pretty simple and there aren't many drop down menus or tabs to choose from. The S300 Guide is an extremely good resource to use for the S300 and SManager. 99% of your questions can be answered there if you take the time to look.

And since i plan on street tuning an h23 dohc vtec motor, the closest basemap in the software is an h22a map and the ignition maps seem pretty messed up. So any tips onto which map i should start with? Or should i purchase one from a respectable tuner and start from there? Thanks again guys you all have been very helpful.

Can anyone explain me the soft rev limiter in smanager? I went through the help file but couldn't understand. So it basically reduces engine power when near the rev limit for better launches?

Its not as "violent" as the hard limiter

Thanks for the reply. So if i was to set power reduction to maximum, i would actually loose power in the upper rpms?

Default Hondata s300 few questions

I think how it works, is at maximum reduction, when it hits the limiter its a 100% cut, making it a bit harsh. At a minimum reduction, it doesnt cut as much, so its smoother when it hits the limiter?

I havent played with the power reduction recently to see the difference
