Default 1991 RT4WD Wagovan Restoration/Build Blog Video/Pics!

Hi. Just bought a turd that I plan to polish until it is a coveted classic! The bones are good, a blue '91 RT4WD civic wagon. Manual of course. Beyond that, pretty much everything is falling apart and I will try and fix. Join me in my journey. Pointers/tips/advice is welcome since I don't know much. Here are some pics of her arrival and also a link to my intro blog video.

What blog?
And why not just post it here so we don't have to hunt down updates?
You can even insert your Youtube videos into posts so we can play them in posts rather than having to jump to Youtube.

Wow man - POR 15! That stuff is TOUGH!
You said something about going back after all said and done and getting a real paint job.
Will you be doing this yourself?
Curious what you will be using to tie it to accept regular primer/paint.

yea I've used POR 15 before....it's basically tar haha but it's better than your car disintegrating. The 'professional paint job' I referred to would definitely not be done by me. I have nowhere near the equipment or know-how to do a good job. I would assume they will have to sand down the POR-15 and possible get rid of it to prime and paint the car. This is all distant future talk considering the car would need some metal work and a new panel or two before I paid for it to be repainted. Short term goals are POR 15, new alternator, new battery, possibly swap out the engine gaskets.

also on a side note: If anyone knows/has pictures of what the stock civic wagon RT4WD center wheel caps look like on steelies I would love to see it. I'm thinking I'm gonna paint my steelies white and put the caps on them if they look decent.

Stock 14 in. Wheel

Stock Honda (or Nissan) 13 in. Wheel

Stock Honda 15 in. Wheel

I like the cap in the 15, it sits a little recessed in the wheel. Maybe I'll paint them white.

thanks man! I actually ordered center caps this morning and just hoped they would look good, but that picture is encouraging. I actually plan on painting mine black with the H in the middle painted white. hopefully it looks good.

keep the good work going. the effort you spend on details, make it all the more better. You will make this into one you won't ever want to rid of.
-make sure you use correct lugnuts that are made for wheelcovers.

to be honest, I didn't know there are specific lugnuts for wheel covers...these are mine...

Here's a picture of the "correct" black lug nut.

As long as they have the plastic collar (which retains the cap), they'll work fine.

Need help. I can't remember how to put this back into the wheel well. Can anyone show me how it fits in there? Believe me, I've tried, nothing is lining up....
