Practically Stock '93 Civic DX with Manual Trans and Straight Body
Hey Honda-Tech!
I used to race this car in autocross and I have done a couple of track days:
It's an 06 RSX Type-S. It used to have:
Tein Street Flex coilovers
255/40 r17 Potenza Pole Positions (crappy tires)
Rota DPT's
Hawk HP+ pads up front and HPS in the rear with stainless lines
Intake, exhaust, header with KPro and tune from Evan's Tuning
Lightweight flywheel with clutch
And now it's back to stock for reliable daily driving!
Ever since I put it back to stock for my new job I was so sad not having a car to romp on. But, thanks to the wonders of money, I was able to buy a second car that I would dedicate strictly to road racing and autocross with some enjoyable driving on the street occasionally.
The goal was to get a car that was light, cheap, had cheap and easy to find parts, good suspension geometry, and was fun to drive on the streets. So, I decided to go with a Honda Civic.
This way, when I start making more money I'll be able to start building the car for the H2 class of Honda Challenge. For now, I'm going to make it into a weekend warrior with some good tires, good coilovers, 94-01 integra suspension and brakes, and maybe an intake and a header for good measure.
I only paid 1,000 dollars for this bad girl and the only mods it came with were a stupidly painted white dash insert (which I immediately replaced) and a Skunk 2 stainless exhaust:
She really is a blast to drive at her limits. I only feel loss on corners from tire grip-- not necessarily poor suspension travel/geometry like I did in the RSX. I really like this car.
Can't wait to be a tighter member of the forum! Thanks HT!
