'98 LX - Sound from trans in neutral or when wrapping out 1st/2nd gear. Bearing?
Brand new Exedy OEM clutch kit installed when I did the motor swap(replaced y7 with y7). When I'm sitting there in neutral I hear what I assume is bearing noise which goes away if I press in the clutch pedal. I also hear that same noise in first and second gear, above maybe 2-2.5k rpm. The noise is sort of like a rattle that goes along with the RPMs, but seems louder than the usual "replace your throwout bearing" noise.
When the Exedy kit was installed I did the pilot bearing install and my buddy did the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing install since I was tied up on something else. I did grease the bearings, fork, and input shaft with the grease included in the kit. The car runs, drives, and shifts fine.
Does this sound like I got a bad throwout bearing?
