Default Newbie need brakes help

I'm about to bleed my first brake job. Let's not debate how to do it as there are many ways.

My question is, why is the bleeder valve pointing up? If I was to use the gravity method, how is it suppose to drain/drip out?

2014 Odyssey rear.

Bleeder valve is on top so the air will release from the caliper. Gravity method requires a hose leading to a container or back to the master cylinder.

So where the arrow is at is NOT where I connect the hose to, to let the fluid drain out?

yes that is the bleeder screw. (take the rubber cap off)

air in the caliper is at the top. so its at the right spot.

the master cylinder is far above the caliper and because its higher it will push fluid and air through, even if at some point it goes upward... its all still below the master cylinder.
