What is this hairy film in my engine block! Well, Let me start over, I decided to pull off the plug on the front of my JDM B20b block to shine it up, and noticed dirt as well as the hairy film; Inside the plug and inside the hole.. Not sure why its there, but im looking for a solution to cleaning this plug and any rust / gunk in the walls surrounding my cylinders..

 

<p>Strip the motor down and take it to a machine shop for a hot tanking, or even better, a hydrosonic cleaning.</p>

 

I just painted the motor :/ would that upset the paint on the outside? If so, any other solutions?
