Icon5 BRAKE LAMP warning light problem?!

5th generation 1997 Accord Coupe 2.2i-ES Automatic (European KG model, CD7 LHD)

BRAKE LAMP warning light problem?!

Problem description:
- Upon inserting key and turning it to position II (ignition), the BRAKE LAMP warning light will come on and stay on.
- This is before even touching the brakes or doing anything.
- As soon as I put my foot on the brake, the light will go out, and stay out.
- The light won't come on during driving either.

Done so far:
- Checked fuses
- Pulled out, cleaned and inspected all connectors at the taillights
- Pulled out, cleaned and inspected all bulbs from the taillights

- Pulled out, cleaned and inspected the brake light trigger at the brake pedal

- Pulled out, cleaned and inspected brake light failure sensor

Nothing has seemingly worked so far, please advice!

May or may not help. But I had this a few months ago. Sometimes brake light would come on when starting sometimes not. I believe owners manual said it was brake light bulb failure only.

When I looked at the contacts on the brake bulb they worn to almost nothing. I replaced it with a used bulb I had and it fixed it.

Thank you for your answer, did you only change the two brake light bulbs? If so, could you tell me volts and watts please?

Still a problem

On a different note, sometimes the flasher relay will spas out, this is sometimes activated by the break pedal or by just simply putting the flasher arm in either left or right positions. The lights doesn't flash, but still work. It's just the relay going ham...
