About two weeks ago a few friends and I attempted to install a subwoofer and amp into my 2011 Civic Ex. After we were unsuccessful with installing the LOC and ended up hacking apart the main radio plug I took it to a local audio shop to have everything installed since it was all to far gone. Ever since then the car has some weird issues I will list below.
Problems
1.Sometimes the car will not leave security mode. By that I mean when I go to start the car the alarm will go off, this is always accompanied by the key fob not working.
2.Buzzing in the speakers that goes away if I turn the headlights on all the way.
I have a few ideas as to what might be causing the problems.
Possible Culprits
1.We(my friends and I) ended up really tearing up the main radio plug, to th point where the 12v constant wire has no wire coming out of the plug end, along with many of the other wires for the speakers and ground being soldered back together with improper gauge wire. I believe this is where the problem is.
2.The audio shop I took the car to wired the 12v constant to the ignition I believe(this is what the Honda garage said I think) which according to the people at the service center could be causing the random alarm problem.
3.Possible backfed wires? I'm not sure what this means but its something the Honda techs threw out there.


Sorry for the wall-o-text but I wanted to get as much info out as possible the first time around. If anyone has any ideas as to a potential solution or anything I would love to hear it. The Honda shop guys said I could try to take it to another audio shop and explain to them my problems and specify I want a fresh install with all new wires, or buying the full wiring harness for the dash and having that installed.
