Default Poll on what looks best painted... door handles, side mirrors

Which combination do you think looks the best?

I already started a thread about this because I'm painting my 91 HB ferrari red and I'm trying to decide whether or not to paint the door handles or side mirrors. If anyone cares I'm shaving the side moldings, emblems, antenna hole, and hatch keyhole.

I'm worried about how well the paint will stick to the door handles and side mirrors, so I'm trying to find out what models have these painted stock. Someone already told me I can use the door handles from a 90-91 4dr EX, has anyone tried that? And which models came with the side mirrors painted?

I don't think I can afford to buy these from honda, so if I might have to just paint them if I can't find em anywhere else. Has anyone painted theirs, and how well did the paint last? How about the black strip that goes along the top of the stock painted bumpers? I'd appreciate any help, or just your opinion in the poll.

I have my stock door handles painted and they are fine have no issues with chipping n such.
I think they sanded them before painting.

If you either sand them or just wipe them off with laquer(sp) thinner and then put primer on them you will be fine. you should have no trouble with the paint except the normal wear on the bottom where you have to touch to open the door.....i think you should keep going with shaving and get rid of the squirters and the rear wiper and if you are up to it you can also just shave the door handles and put remote openers in it. just some thoughts

Yeah, I thought about all of that. I never had a rear wiper, and I can't afford remote door openers. I've been thinkin about the windshield squirters too, because I haven't used them in over a year. But I realized that if somethin got all over my window while I was driving that I couldnt clean off with the wipers I'd be in trouble, right? And I don't think they look bad.

well ill tell ya what i did.... im a cheapskate for starters and i figure out ways to do things cheaply. well as for the remote openers i instaled seliniods(sp) out of a caravan/voyager rear hatch because they have electronic hatches ( picked them up at the junkyard for nothin ) and i used the rod connecting the the door handle and attached it to the seliniod and mounted the seliniod inside the door. i then bought an alarm system from ebay that had 2 extra channels for remote door locks...i give like 25 bucks for it. well instead of hookin it up as door locks i just wired it into the selinoids i instaled. so now when i press the lock button on the the remote it opens the driver side door and when i push the unlock button it opens the pass side door. and another cool thing is there is no need for "poppers" on these cars because the dorrs will pop open far enough on their own so you can get ahold of them enought to open them.
now for the squirters....i canned them too and i got thinkin the same thing..what if i need them while driving so i set out to find somthing different to use and i found a squirter off of a late 80s dodge truck and i mounted it kinda under the hood so it would still squirt up on the windshield but wouldnt look as bad as the 2 black things on the hood. it worked really well it is very hard to see. and i still have squirting power on hand if i need it. ive tried to explain the best i can without confusing anyone ....if i did confuse you im sorry lol

when i put my car in the shop to get repainted and kitted up, i had my body man shave the handles. didn't get solenoids or do a total shaving, instead i had a hole cut out in the door and installed some heavy duty locks, then welded the latch mechanism to the key lock. now when i turn the key, it pops the door open. also i had my mirrors painted semi-gloss black, so they kinda blend in with the window tint and give a cleaner appearance. also you can't see my squirters too well with a CF hood. there's my .02, hope it was helpful
