Default License plate holder?

I've been looking at civics lately, but I nearly ALWAYS see 6th gen hatches with the license very high up in the plate holder... The dutch license plate = narrow, so you can definetly tell it. Is there no way if I do decide to get a civic with the plate up in the holder, to make it sit more in the middle? Or isnt it that simple?

Here a example

Make a bracket out of some aluminum? Seems like four holes and two extra bolts/nuts would do the job. Get creative. Looks like it will cover up the keyhole if you do that though.

I thought that idea was pretty damn simple.

Heyy guys, one question on the side. I often see the 99-00 EJ models having painted plate holder, and the older ones with the black license plate holder. Are they the same material and the one painted to match the body, or would you have to look around for a new 1?

I don't know about overseas, but in the US it depended on trim level. Lower trims were black, higher trims were body colored. Same material though and you can paint match a black one if you desire. Hatches only came in the lower trims here, btw. CX/DX/HX

Yea there are higher trim plate holders, I usually see them with the 1999-2000 civic.. But such a small ******* country mate, been checking daily for 2 weeks now and I havent seen **** :D

You can tell from own experience how much such a simple paintjob for something the size of a plate holder would be approx?

Thanks bro, cant wait to start up a build thread....

No clue. Only ever had it done as part of a full paint job, and only ever done that with some sort of homie hookup. I would think ~$50, but paint and materials would be expensive to do just that one piece.
