Default 16x7 +42 on DC2R ?

https://www.jhpusa.com/store/pc/view...dproduct=28264

Im over my current wheels. They sink in to much to the guard and dont look the best, so I was told i need a wheel with a bigger offset? They are 16" HRV wheels which I believe are 6" wide.

Does anyone have an opinion on the wheels above, I want to get 16x7 +42. Will they be a good fit my DC2R with the 205/45/16 tire, and not be as sunk in as what i currently have? Lowered only a little bit and I have no existing rubbing issues.

JDM ITR uses 16x7 so im guessing it should be ok?

What would i need to do to achieve the wheels to sit flush with the guard ?

Also has anyone had experience with JHPUSA ?

https://www.jhpusa.com/store/pc/view...idcategory=172 - would these be appropriate ?

Current wheels and fitment:

Looks great! Well that answers my fitment question.

What suspension you running ? I have Tein SS. I shouldnt have any problems hitting the guard (inside or out)?

Those wheels will for sure clear the coils, don't worry about that.

You will be close to the fender lip in the rear depending on how low you go, with a 215/45/16 you will need to run a bit more neg camber but it's no problem fitting those wheels.

Perfect sizing and offset for the DC chassis. Minor negative camber in the rear may be needed to clear the fender liner depending on how low you go.

If you are fitting OEM Honda rims such as the 16x7 JDM ITR ones, use your OEM factory lug nuts that as they are designed for them, do not use after market ones.

However, if you are running after market rims such as TE37, CE28 etc, you need to get after market lug nuts to suit. I am currently using the Mugen lug nuts on my after market rims, as they are of good quality and durable, unlike the aluminum ones you see around.

Here's a link to the Mugen lug nuts:

^^Correct. Factory wheels use a ball seat style lug nut while aftermarket wheels use a taper design. In terms of lug nut brands it doesn't really matter. Choose between aluminum or steel. I've used Rays, Skunk2, Motegi, Project Kics, etc. The higher priced ones aren't really worth the price of admission. Cheaper ones can work just fine.

I thought the OEM 98-spec 16" tires were 215/45. Are you sure camber modification is needed? I guess that's at stock height...

OEM JDM 16 is +50 offset.

There are no rear fender liners.

Don't buy colored lugs cause they fade, stick to something gunmetal ish if you want the look to last.

Possible rubbing without appropriate camber adjustment. Shouldn't be too bad though considering your only 1" lower. Many have run 15x8 +32mm (TE37 SL) without issue but, as mentioned, camber adjustments may be needed.

No rubbing?

I think i am set on a wheel which is 16x7 +38, would these be a problem? If it needs camber adjustment, is that something a tyre shop does when fitting the wheels?

used to run 16x7 +40 with 5 mm spacer so technically (+35) rota slipstreams with 205/45/16 tires no rubbing issue. Car was lowered but wasn't slammed. Moved on to 16X8 rota grids +20 mm offset, but now quarters are rolled.
