01 accord losing coolant/overheating
My 4 cylinder accord seems to be losing coolant, I have replaced all hoses from the heater core removed the thermostat and ,replaced the radiator cap,no water in oil and no white smoke. I need help.
Don't just replace parts, get a hold of a cooling system pressure tester, load up the system and look for the leak.
There's always a chance the heater core itself is leaking and you would see a mist on the windshield and smell coolant coming out of the vents.

I too have a '01 accord that loses coolant but I beleive I have a blown head gasket. Coolent slowly gets pushed out to the overflow but doesn't get drawn back in when engine cools. Also has few bubbles coming from the overflow when engine on. Hot combustion gasses are pushing the coolant back out the cooling system. So, the rad has less coolant because it's in the overflow causing car to run hot and/or overheat. Do you have similar issues?

I hope this helps you. I would do a compression test to see if the cylinders are up to spec and also test your coolant for combustion gasses.
Yeah same here been putting coolant every morning before work and again on my way home . Took it to a mechanic and said it's the head that bend?and the engine is"drinking all the coolant" . His way he put it. Said it would be a 750$ job.

My guy quoted me $850-$900 here in SoCal. I am sure the head is warped. Head needs to be resurfaced and be straight for the gasket to do his job. I have 150k miles. How about yours?
I am in the same situation. Engine runs great and it would be a shame to let it go. I am just going to bite the bullet and have it repaired.
A buddy of mine is going to throw some gasket sealant he says he used on one of his trucks and if that doesn't work I'm going to have to do the same and get it repaired.
We used blue devil head gasket sealer, cars been running good worked drove it around for two hours then from Corona to sb and needle stays fine so it worked, nice rallypoint_1 how much did you end up paying for it?
I am glad that sealer is working for you!! Is you coolant going back into the radiator when cool? I didn't want to put anything in the cooling system. Price is about $800 or so. Should have it back by tomorrow or Tuesday!!
Yes it is the temperature gauge stays back to normal ,ac full blast needle stays on point opened the radiator to see if it was losing coolant and it's still topped off. Nice damn that's not bad keep me posted when you get I back
Not to continue the thread jack, we had similar issues, I got the car back. Feels like a different car!! Power is back up to par and felling very peppy. I saw the blown gasket yesterday and it was blown between 1,2 and 2,3 cylinders. Here is what was done:
Head resurfaced and pressure tested
head gasket
2 coolant hoses(swollen from heat)
Vtec gasket
Dizzy o-ring
Cam seal
New spark plugs
Coolant (duh)
Oil and filter
Very happy on how she is running. Going to take her on a longer drive tomorrow and I am sure she will fly with flying colors!!
