chipped p08 vs chipped p28
If you want to stay stock - P08 all the way.
If you want to chip your ECU to run some sort of EMS - P28 all the way.
Keep in mind that a lot of ECUs can be converted to a "P28". A P08 is more rare and offers better timing an fueling curves for that engine. Many have reported power loss by just using a stock P28 in place of a P08. If you are getting a tune, that problem doesn't matter anymore though.

@OneBadTurboCRV, so i should be getting a P28 and get it chipped.
If i get P08 chipped then is it possible to revert it normal program by simply un-plugging the new chip (keeping the additional capacitor and resistors in place)?

if I get p08 chipped, then simply unplugging the chip out will bring back the ecu to default (while other chipping kit components are still in ecu)?
No, simply removing the chip isn't enough. You have to cut or remove the "J1" jumper before the ECU will revert back to the embedded ROM.
It all depends on what you want, some outputs aren't available on JDM ECUs. That's a decision you have to make, I already told you my opinion on the matter.

@OneBadTurboCRV thanks a lot for your answers and opinion. I should get a p28 then.
I want to get both power and economy tuning at different times. I am still learning things before I actually start tuning. Can't wait to play with tuning stuff
Please give an example on this statement

No purge control output for one (again, if it even matters to you). There are minor differences for set up in different EMS and wiring differences you need to be aware of. Nothing major, but it's something to keep in mind when you are reading on how to do things that you are working with a JDM ECU.
In my opinion it's better to keep a known good working ECU specific for your engine that way you always have something to fall back on just in case something messes up with your modified ECU. This way your modified ECU isn't your backup ECU because vibrations don't play nice with some of the EMS designs. If you don't have the funds then I understand, but to reiterate one last time, it's just my useless opinon.

Your opinion is quite right for me. I will go with a separate chipped p28 because my car is actually a daily use car and it will be a big hassle if something goes wrong with p08. This way i can always swap ecu for tuning and fallback.
Do you think that by using p28 i'll need to change some wiring too?
