Rear wheel bearings
Took my '07 Hinda Civic Hybrid (108,000 miles) to the dealer for metallic type "click" on acceleration and deceleration (almost like something is rocking from one position to another at those moments. Not associated with braking. I spent $500 for a new left rear wheel bearing. Was told the right one will need to be replaced soon. Drove home, they didn't fix the sound. Needless to say I am not happy.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to the site.
Busted swaybar end link? Busted rear suspension arm bushing?
Get under it and grab something and see if it moves. Tap the sway bar with the handle of a wooden hammer and listen for vibrations. Make sure you don't have something in the spare tire storage clunking around... there's not much back there so just get under there and see for yourself.

Any thoughts?Does this dealer know that the civic is not a rear wheel drive vehicle? Why did they replace the rear wheel bearing...and why for $500????
S2000's develop this issue when there is not enough torque on the drive axle nut. On the civic in question...that would be on the front wheels.
Although a wheel bearing would make noises like a hum, sometimes more on turns. Clicking would indicate bad bushing, loose stabilizer link maybe, or any other number of warn parts possibly hitting together. Hard to tell wthout actually hearing the vehicle.

I think he means that wheel bearing noise in the rear would not have been indicated as a clicking upon accel/decel like it would with a RWD vehicle. Or something along those lines. I read it and scratched my head at first, but kind of understands what hes saying.
