Default Crome. Does it have an ignition timing issue?

Long story short, I decided to datalog my car. 4th gear pull and my car starts smoking. Sounds like a subaru so I limp it home.
I made 312whp for a year or two.
Disassemble my block and I find a gnarly hole in #4 piston.

Anyways, finally pulled my datalog file and I notice that the timing wasn't where I specified. High cam timing was set to be at 18.5* at 11psi, but my datalog files show that at 600rpms I was at 18* but as I approached 8k rpms, timing rose up to 23*.

Discus. I know that crome is outdated, but did I do something wrong or does crome has ignition timing issues?

The is 100% normal. Table timing and actual timing are to different aspects.

here are some pictures for reference...

but you're saying that if I notice on my datalogs that my timing is off, I should retard it some more?

Yes, I know its rich, but I +1 the fuel map just to be safe.

Nothing to discuss really... it is well known CROME is more advanced than table timing shows. There are plenty of threads on this. Same with Hondata and NepTune and I am sure others as well. The only one I am aware of that has the ability to display actual timing is NepTune.

Every motor will want different timing anyways so to shoot for a specific number to begin with is foolish in my opinion.

Here is an example of a compensation table that gets added to your ignition table in crome.

I use Neptune and you can see in this data log that the actual timing is much higher then my table timing.

Neptune software showing off, again.

I'd look into a fueling issue on cyl 4 to be the culprit rather than your ignition timing. You either have a dirty/failing injector, or your cylinder #4 fuel compensation needs adjustment due to intake air flow variances.
