Does anyone have a yonaka catback exhaust setup on their ej8? Did you guys have any exhaust mount problems? Mine hangs in front of the resonator right after the catalytic converter. Looks like there should be another mount right there because that part of the exhaust has two hangers on it but the car only has one mount for it. The resonator part of the catback is making a really annoying sound! Does this have to do with the exhaust not being sturdy enough? Or does yonaka just suck that bad for it to give out on me within two years?

 

If you just recently purchased this than ask for an exchange. As long as your within the warranty you should be able to ask for an exchange.

 

Sounds like he's had it for almost 2 years already.

 

yonaka makes quality stuff. sounds like some1s install work didnt last.

This is strange, I can't find how long the exhaust are covered for on there site. It just states the "limited warranty" bullshit. What the hell....

pay the $30 to an exhaust shop and have them add another hanger to it.

 

Guy I bought it from didn't list the brand, but he had a full catback exhaust put on and I can't stand the rattle in my 2nd gear throw.

 

Exact how is this relevant?

 

I'll take a pic later today. Warranty? Yeah I don't think so.. Bought it through ebay. Only place I could find it in stock at the time. Running a itr engine with it right now. Maybe that killed it sooner than normal ha. What's next after yonaka?

 

Installing that thing was a piece of cake. Everything was bolt on. Did it my myself. I'm going to see if a muffler shop could just weld another hanger mount on to the body of the car near the resonator since this exhaust has two hangers in the same spot.

 

Update on the yonaka exhaust. Turns out the midpipe resonator completely gave out. Went to a local muffler shop where they showed me how the inside became loose causing that annoying rattle. The guy actually used his welding gun to open up a hole on the resonator to try and weld some of that stuff together. He was able to stop the rattle but was told it was going to come back so it would be best to buy a new one. So I ordered a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and see how that goes. I'll post a pic on how it looks on a full yonaka catback when I receive it. Now I see why yonaka's website offers just the resonator itself for sale.

 

Any update on that rattle? I know this is an old thread but having something similar with Yonaka and its not touching the rails anywhere
