1990 Civic Si tach not working correctly
1990 Civic Si, 246k on stock d16a6. My tachometer stopped working the other day, it starts up and idles at 0(according to the tach of course), and then moves fast up the RPM range. Anyone else have this problem and suggestions to fix it?
Could be the ignition control module (ignitor) in the distributor on it's way out. When they start to go bad the tach will fluctuate and do odd things.
The part is pretty universal between most D/B series distributors if you have another laying around.

Less than a couple months ago I replaced the cap, rotor, and (according to o'reilleys) the part was called an ignition coil, would that be the same part you are talking about? On top with a blue and black/yellow wire attached?
