Hey guys this is my very first build its a 95 gsr engine going in my 95 eg8
Not completely finished but I'm getting there. Been doing this build all by myself with the help of my little brother who been out there on cold, rainy, sunny days with me. Ive worked my butt off hope it all pays off.
This is when I first got my car, was doing an oil change and radiator flush.
After having the car for 2 months, I decided the d15b8 just wasn't gonna do enough for me, Project time!
Went with a gsr longblock, I wanted to Pop V lol
Out with the old, In with the new
Prepping valve cover for a new paint job
Painted Valve Cover, Removed D series
Cleaned up Longblock
Cut my valve cover
New heart is in :D
New Head Gasket, New ARP head studs. Installing the head back to the block.
New exedy clutch and new exedy flywheel
So far so good
Touchdown!! After sitting 7 cold months on bricks and cinderblocks.
That Booty tho
Connecting Everything almost ready to start her up for the first time!
She's almost there
Will post more pics, need to install radiator, intake mani, intake, distributor, and all the plugs and vacuum hoses and will start her up for the first time.
Nice build man. That work will def pay off, you had the d15b8? Man that motor had like 30 less hp then the stock dx. It'll be a night and day difference.
What tranny are you gonna be running? I do have to suggest if you want optimal performance and to put all of the power to BOTH wheels get a tranny with LSD. Then after that you should be heading to the track

Thanks bro! And I sure do hope so I put all my savings into this build, and yea it was a d15b8 lol it was a freaking turtle man topped it out at 100mph didn't go past that fuel cut off was @5,500 rpms. Still did hella burnouts with it tho lol. The GSR is a good 100hp more then my old d series so I'm expecting good things!
And I found a gsr tranny on craigslist some dude up north new York posted it up drove about 2 hours to go get it paid 400 bucks for it along with a p28 chipped ecu. Come home cracked the tranny open counted the teeth to find out it was a LS tranny -__- ... Will eventually swap it out to a lsd tranny like you said. Will keep LS for spare parts.

Put the ls 5th gear in the new tranny, this will keep the rpms down when you are on the highway. But that sucks man, hope all works well for you. I know that swap will be fun as hell! You'll be so glad you didnt get a b16 haha.
Radiator is not installed yet. Just seeing what it would look like I'm very satisfied with the outcome!

Yeap exactly what I was gonna do, 5th gear ls is good for highway cruising and better mpg. And thanks dude, I sure will man. I installed intake manifold and intake today and plugged up harness. Will post picture.

I always love it when people cut their valve cover for absolutely no freaking reason

Naw B its for a reason obviously. It's for the looks. I'll eventually upgrade my cam gears later on and I just want them to show so its my choice anyways. Not yours.
nice so far, id be nervous with the puddlesucker intake on it, tho.
Thanks, and really lol me too. They sell this splash guard thing you wrap around the air filter but I'm not too sure if it works well. I was thinking of just having a back up intake when it rains I'll swap them out.

Well, that bar is a far cry easier to replace if you hit something, vs your core support.
Also, if you aren't having cooling issues, chances are you won't notice benefit at all, if anything, you'll notice additional drag, shittier MPG and your engine never getting up to temp... especially with that enormous radiator
What no way man I was wondering why you never updated damn I'm really sorry to here that. Thieves are such ******* pieces of ****, how did it happen tho bro you weren't running any security?
