05 acura rsx auto trans slipping
I am a new member and I'm having transmission problems and I was hoping someone would be able to help me on here...I have a 05 Acura rsx and for a couple of months now my transmission does fine and I can drive up n down my driveway until it gets normal running temp and then it starts slippin really bad...I mean I have had to push it back into my garage...can someone please help me find out what is causing this..because it cost around 3500 to get it rebuilt..and I really don't want to ha e to do that if it's something simple..because its not getting worse or anything I can drive it up n down my driveway daily until it gets normal running temp..can someone plz help...
Fluid level is a good place to start. When did this problem start, and what was the last thing done to the car prior to this problem occurring? What is the condition of the fluid?
Given it is an RSX, and that you just bought it, I will assume it has had a rough life.
If the fluid level is full, I suspect clutch material shedding. This will lead to poor oil pump output which will clog the filter internally. A fluid change or transmission service will not cure this problem. Your clutches may be so worn out that the oil time a reasonable seal can be made with the clutch pistons is when it is cold. Once it warms up, it leaks, and slips in turn.
More information is required. Be detailed, and I will be detailed.

Man it's been like this for like this for like 5 to 6 months and yea fluid is good..and I've done nothing prior to it happening I was on my way to my gfs and iI live about 20 mins away from her and it done fine the whole way..n then I got bout 5 mins away n that's when it went out..n like I said I can run it daily in the driveway until it gets normal runnin temp then is starts slippin bad...I have heard that it may be a sensor going bad that when it warms up then goes out...n ive also been told that about the trans oil pump...is there a way to check it change the filter without having to tear into the trans??...oh and I havent had any trans fluid leaking either...oh and I've had it for about 3 yrs...its only had about 63000mls on it n now I'm at 108000mls
Sensors do not cause slippage. There is no sensor that Honda uses to determine how much clutch pressure to apply directly to the clutches, other than MAP or TPS input. Even if these two sensors were to fail or become incoherent, you would have maximum line pressure applied to prevent slippage.
Remove and disassemble the unit and replace components as required. You will probably have clutch material blockages and a clogged filter as a result of those two. Any other situation will require explanation by you.
