Default Old civic differential on 2001 civic

Had super crapppp PHANTOM GRIP (which is **** but that isn't the theme) and differential is broken.

Does older civic's differential fit and works in my 2001 civic? Manual trany.

Don't asking about transmission.

I do believe that the spline count is different in the 01+ D-series transmissions, so I don't believe that an older differential will work.

Internal spline count. I don't have a picture of my own, but if you look down the bore of the differential, you can see the internal splines that mate up with the CV's: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44...erential03.jpg
