I will start off by showing ya what the suspension looks like for you that do not know ..

and i will follow with the how to later today since i have to wait for my friend to open up his shop so we can do the install.. so stay tuned!! episode 2

thats what im talking about joel...
and we gotta do one on your ek
a 5lug conversion runs about 2k with everything...all you may need is the 4040 proportaning valve and maybe the MC/booster, but you can find all those in the classifieds for about 100-150 for everything...

Be sure to tell how well your car looses traction in braking with those khumos as well.

well everything was 2k ..i get hookups in most parts and consider myself i good shopper, most of my friend's jaw's drop to the floor when they find out what i pay for the stuff i get, but its just knowing what a good deal is when ya see it
98 ITR suspension (hubs, LCA(R), shocks/springs) $860 shipped (strictly hookup)
2001 ITR GM wheels $400 shipped w/o tires
Kuhmo Ecsta 711's 205/50/15s (mounted, balanced + tax) $284
Ground Control Coilovers (ITR) $220 shipped
and the koni yellows im getting will probbaly fill up the rest.
about it being worth it, hell yes!!! going from completely stock CX brakes which i swear must be like 9.2 rotors
to 11.2" and rear discs, plus the fact that i can now bolt on ITR sway bars.. is a godsend!! not to mention that extra lug gives me w00d!

ive have seen 5lugs w/wheels for 2gs...thats about what a nice wheel set costs.... for 2gs i would rather do a 5lug....JDM OEM look, and better breaking...i would say its worth a little wrench time...

damn you paid $400 for GM ITR rims? man i know this one guy that was sellin his with toyos for $300. well to me atleast. man that's a good deal.
I guess i can go ahead and do my " How-To" since i have recently completed the JDM 5-lug conversion on my 92 Si. It was pretty simple because my car already had rear disk on if from the factory so i didnt have to run new e-brake lines or change the porportioning valve since mine was already a 40/40 valve. I started at the rear and removed the complete rear suspension. Replaced it with the "R" suspension and rear shocks. YOu must use "R" shocks due the the "R" lca's or you can use GS-R lca's with your civic shocks to still make the sway bar work. Then i moved to the front and completely removed the front suspension and axles and replaced it with the JDM 36mm axles and "R" front brake assembly. This is simply the easiest part. THe fun part is replacing the MC/Booster. So i began sucking all the brake fluid out of the reservoir and removing the old MC/BOoster. ONce that is done have fun squeezing the HUGE "R" MC/Booster into the engine bay. Now for the tricky part: Since the JDM "R" is RHD one of the brake lines comes up on the right side of the MC near the shock tower. Well since the "R" MC comes out into the engine bay a lot farther than the civic one you really have to bend the hell out of the line. Dont worry those hard brake lines are a lot more flexible than you would imagine. Then you have to take the other line that bolts to the top of the MC and bend that up/over to get it to go into the top of the MC. NOTE: You do not have to cut and reflare the brake lines that is noted on JEFF SLOAN's 5-lug HOW-TO unless you use INtegra RS/GS-R MC. FOr some reason they have one line that has a bigger nut on it and you have to cut the old one off and put the larger nut on and then reflare which sucks big time. BUt if you have the "R" MC everthing screws right in. ONce all that is done make sure everything is tight and you and a friend can now bleed the brakes and bolt up your new wheels. In my case i couldnt find some "R" wheels so i purchased a nice new set of 5-lug Spoon SW388's and Falken Azenis rubber. THE BRAKING POWER now is terrific.
I cant wait to finally put my car on the track this upcoming year and do some HPDE's and know that the last thing i have to worry about is brake fade!!!! Please feel free to IM or email me for specific details on this swap.
BTW i paid: 975.00 for my full conversion which was Front assembly with front sway bar/lca's and rear setup with rear lca's/swaybar, 4 shocks, 4 springs, JDM 98 spec UPPER arms, MC/Booster, Brake lines. A big thanks goes out to Larry JR. for the HOOKUP on the parts.
