I searched a bit online and on this forum before posting, but I haven't found anything recent pertaining to this model year, the first of its generation. I'm looking to purchase a 2003 Accord V6 EX-L with the automatic transmission but came across the transmission problem while researching it. How likely am I to experience that problem in the near future? The car has just 91 thousand miles and the owner says he's never experienced the problem and that the transmission shifts smoothly. He's also said that he's replaced the transmission fluid twice throughout this time and that he had the recall work done regarding the transmission in 2004. All help is appreciated.

 

Nobody can tell you when you may experience a problem.

If the owner has done the recall, and changed fluids twice already, he has done all the right things. There are some that say the pressure switches should be changed some times as well. Just don't beat her like a red headed step child and you should be fine. But then again, nobody can say for sure.
