Icon4 Please Help

I own a 91 1.5 L Honda Civic. A few days ago I was driving my car and my exhaust started to get a little louder than normal. I was not too troubled by this and kept driving. About 5 minutes later I heard metal hitting metal and it sounded like something metal fell off my car and hit the pavement. I was not sure if it was my car or the car next to me. When I came to a stop light, my car was hesatiting, but it still had power. My dad is going to come over tonight and check the compression of the cylinders. I crawled under the car last night to see if there was any shiny metal (my dad told me to). He said that this could tell me what possibly fell out of my car. Sadly there was no shiny metal under the car. I don't want to have to by a new, but I don't really like spending $100 a day to get to and from work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

1) Look over the FAQ and forum rules, you need a better thread title.
2) No one here can tell you anything from your vague description. Unless you post pictures of your engine bay and underside of your car all you will get is a bunch of random guesses that will lead to nothing but even more questions.

Honest guess on my part, somehow the header has come loose and disconnected from the cat.
