Clicking noise from front wheel area just started
My son has a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe. 4 cyl. 5 spd manual. 95k mls.
Yesterday, a clicking sound started in the front wheel area, we cannot determine if it is one side or both. Right now, it happens while accelerating in 2nd gear only. If we let off the accelerator, it stops. We inspected underneath the car along the axle. On the passenger's side, there looks to be fresh leakage of some type of fluid, near a rubber boot, that is accordion shaped. Since I am pretty clueless, I am looking for your ideas before I wander into my mechanic without some ideas. Thanks a lot for helping this dad!

Thanks,
Upon further inspection, it looks like fluid is coming from that boot area, although I cannot see that the boot itself is torn or ripped. However, it is definitely coming from that specific spot. I am going to have that side of the axle replaced. My mechanic will replace it with a new one (not re manufactured) for $200 parts and labor. Seems fair to me. Thanks for verifying.
