Default dying out & electrical issues help!!

Ok I have a 91 accord ex...I was driving home from work & all of a sudden my radio started turning off & on & my gages stopped working. As I continued to drive the car began to lose power & start to sputter as I got over on the shoulder the car died out. After my wife arrived I boosted it & drove about a mile & it did the same thing. I had to boost it 5 more times to get it home. I have a brand new battery I purchased 3 days ago & yesterday I took the alternator off took it to autozone & they said it was good so I dont know what else it could be. ...? Main relay?

Do you have a volt meter?

What is the voltage reading at the battery when the car is running?

To me is soulds like the alt is bad or there is a bad connection - cleaning both end of both battery cables never hurts - and they should be tight on the battery posts. I'd also inspect the larger wire from the alt to the fuse box/battery for signs of wear or being loose

I dont have a volt meter but I need to get one. I have a brand new battery & the post are tight. I recently took the alt off & had it tested...it was good. I put it back on boosted the car & it seems everything is working fine now?? Ive been driving it for the past 3 days & everything seems to be good. I guess it was a loose wire?

Sounds like a bad connection on the battery cables. Be sure all ends of both cables are clean and tight and hope it doesn't come back. If so, we can get into more testing.

I have a 1998 Honda accord and I am experiencing the same symptoms. If I wiggle my key, I can get it running.

I have a new battery , alternator tested 13+ volts when running.

I did put in a new ignition switch.

I need suggestions.
