Default 1996 JDM B18C Oxygen Sensor (Which one to use??) *Pics

I have a 1996 B18c spec swap in my 1997 Civic LX Sedan. My O2 sensor plastic came unhooked and got burned by my exhaust so I ordered a new one. It didn't fit so I went to the Honda dealership to see if they had an O2 sensor in stock so I could compare it to the new one I had ordered. Come to find out, now I believe it was the downstream O2 sensor that got damaged. All this time, I was thinking it was the upstream since I have it installed before the cat (custom exhaust).

After Popping my hood, I see this isn't even plugged in after all this time. (First Picture). I assume this is the upsteam?

The 2nd picture, the plug you see is the one my O2 sensor was connected to on my exhaust underneath the car.

Does the O2 sensor that's in the 1st picture the only one that's supposed to be installed?? I heard the 96 JDM O2 sensor only utilizes one Oxygen Sensor.

thanks in advance.

JDM B18C only has 1 O2 sensor upstream at the header since oversea markets have different emission regulations than Japan. Plug the connector in the first picture to the O2 sensor in the header.

Are you running a JDM B18C ecu?

Yes, I am running the stock JDM p73 ECU. The O2 bong is underneath the car so I just ordered an extender. Thanks for the reply!

O2 setup all depends on what ECU your running. JDM ECU won't look for the 2nd sensor so no worries about the extra plug. Just secure it somewhere so it doesn't get damaged.

Ok sounds good! I will plug the 2nd hole up with a bolt. I'm glad my 2nd O2 got burned up because I thought that was my primary after all this time. Thanks for your help!
