Default Honda Accord CD7 drop issues?

Hello everyone,

Before anything, I want to apologize for any of my language mistakes, I'm european and english isn't my first tongue.

Now that out of my way, lets move on. I got myself my very first Honda. It's an accord ( 1997 CD7 coupe 2.2i ES petrol). Did all the main things when buying a new used car, changed oils, belts, etc. After further inspection, my mechanic told me that my shocks are worn out and needed replacement in the near future. So i decided to buy new set of 4 KYB excel-g's and when I got those, i wanted little bit of drop as well. All I wanted was so that my wheel arches could get closer to the tire which required about 30mm in drop. After some research I found Vogtland sports springs (not audio or other ones) which supposed to drop the car by 30-35 mm. I was very pleased with those numbers and ordered them.

After everything arrived I replaced both my shocks and coil springs. However, I noticed that there was not an inch of drop. The car now sits as it was before changing everything. I contacted previous car owner and he told me there as nothing done to the shocks or coil springs (which I could tell from the state of the old shocks and coil springs.. also removing the old rusted nuts was a pain like it was not touched since it rolled out of the fabric). So now im confused. With this new setup I drove almost 100 miles (250+ km) already so that they could settle in but with no changes. The ride quality is better but apart that there is no difference in drop. So what could be the case? Any ideas? I did not check the measurements before changing the suspension apart that there was a gap of 3 fingers between the tires and wheel arches. After the change, the gap was the same.

Sorry for the wall of text hope to get some answers.

The original springs were probably sagging along with the blown shocks the car was already lowered from age. When the original shocks and springs were replaced with the lowering springs the car just maintained the same height.
It can be a common issue with older cars with worn suspension. Replace the old parts with lowering springs and the car is the same height or taller than the original worn parts.

You did use the correct parts and lower the car, however the springs/bushings have worn out so the lowering you have done with the springs is negated.

Lowering springs are based off of new parts and new chassis, they do not compensate for ~20years of use.
